Round Head Square Neck Bolts, Carriage Bolts, Coach Bolts

Carriage bolts, also called coach bolts, have a mushroom-like head with a square neck. Its 1-piece forged from carbon steels, used through iron strengthening plates on either side of a wooden beam. Its commonly used into bare timber, the squared section giving enough grip to prevent rotation. The square neck design under the head makes the bolt self-locking when placed through a square hole, or a round hole in most wood.

Round head square neck bolts usually assorted with hex flange nuts or hex nuts. The general supplies are made of low carbon steels, middle carbon steels (low grade and high strength), stainless steel 18-8, grade 304 and 316.

The metric standard carriage bolts are DIN 603 with material class 4.8, 6.8 and 8.8.

Carriage Bolts or coach bolts, are generally zinc plated or hot dipper galvanized. For higher anti-corrosion requirements, the dacromate coating or ruspert coating available or combination coationg could be used.
